August – September 2024: As part of a Teaching Innovation Award we have a 50 hour paid opportunity to help develop lab lithography and direct write device printing. This would ideally suit a 3rd year Physics undergraduate who has had experience with the Research Methods module. Hours/dates on this opportunity are flexible – to be arranged with the applicant.

Oct – Dec 2024: As part of a Teaching Innovation Award we have short term opportunities for finalists to test new developments for 3rd year lab. These will be 4 – 8 hours of paid work (comparable to a 3rd year lab session) followed by a survey on what worked/didn’t work.

Short term roles suitable for UG students or completed PhD students:

July – November 2024: The aim will be to test the operation of a newly installed strategic Equipment including scanning probe microscopy, thin film deposition, and thermal lithography. You will be expected to write a short report on completion of the project.

Experience required in experimental physics, ideally electric and/or magnetic characterisation techniques or thin film deposition and lithography.
